Dragoș Ciolacu

Boasting an extensive training and teaching activity, he is architect and associate professor at „G.M. Cantacuzino” Faculty of Architecture in Iași, where he teaches, in addition to the design workshop, the History of Romanian Architecture and Ecclesiastical Architecture. Doctor habilitatus of the Doctoral School at „Ion Mincu” University of Architecture in Bucharest.

He took part in various national and international competitions and won several of them, of which we mention the Palas Ensemble in Iaşi and the Cathedral of People’s Redemption in Bucharest.

He carries out his profession at his own architecture practice, where he did urban planning, restoration and architecture projects which are important in terms of complexity and scope. He is currently finishing the extension project for the Metropolitan Church Complex in Iaşi.

Dragoş Ciolacu is a regular presence in different associations and specialized forums and is the president of Iaşi-Vaslui branch of UAR, where he coordinates important events for the city’s cultural life – the National Biennial of Architecture and Romanian Creative Week. He is the author of important books for the formation of young architects – History of Romanian Architecture, Sacred Architecture and the like, as well as a permanent collaborator at specialized magazines.

Architect Dragoş Ciolacu has supervised research programmes and participates with presentations at national and international conferences.
