Alexandru BELDIMAN boasts an impressive professional career dotted with numerous awards and distinctions.
He was the president of the Romanian Union of Architects (1990 – 1999), vicepresident of the International Union of Architects (1999 – 2002), cofounder of the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR) and the Romanian Register of Urban Planners, president of the Simetria Foundation for Architecture and Urban Planning, professor at the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning and founder of BBM Group architecture firm.
He has developed an extensive editorial, publishing and research activity in the field of architecture, coordinating various European programmes in the area of education and culture.
He was the curator of the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennial and the coordinator of several Biennials of Architecture in Bucharest.
In 2013, Alexandru Beldiman became a Honorary Member of OAR and was the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, such as the “Duiliu Marcu” Romanian Academy Award for Architecture and the Bene Merenti Medal awarded by the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning.
